Cyprus Villas to Rent Santorini Villas is a small exclusive development of holiday Villas numbering 12 villas. They are ideally located to the east of Paphos town, in a quiet suburb called Geriskipou. Travel to the airport is only 15 minutes, and the development is also close to local beaches and golf courses. All properties have beautiful coastal views to the south and a mountain backdrop. The houses consist of 3 bedrooms with 3 bath/shower rooms and have been designed by our award winning architect, Andreas Vardas (BA Hons). The development is a finalist of the Homes Overseas Awards 2004 for Best Interior & Best Cypriot Villa. Local Area The east side of Paphos has many attractions including The Luna Park for younger children with outside and indoor play areas with rides. Also Paphos Waterpark which is open from May onwards, a lovely day out for the whole family. Visit some of the local villages, they all have their own tavernas, sample the local wine and cheese (Halloumi) and home cooking. The Cypriot people are very hospitable and welcome visitors. Three championship golf courses are situated close to Santorini Villas - Tsada , Secret Valley & Aphrodite Hills. Each challenging in their own way, all with stunning scenery. There are many lovely walks in and around Geriskipou or sit in the village square and have a cool drink watching the world go by. There is a local market in the village square, usually on a Sunday in the holiday period. Visit Aphrodite's Rock on the east side of Paphos, the legend claims that if you swim around the rock eternal youth is yours - that has to be worth a try!

It is extremely rare to see real innovative design and this small development of 12 houses about 15 minutes east of Paphos, was not only deemed terrific value at CYP£125,000 for a 3 bed house with pool, but also something very special in terms of its architecture.

Young local architect Andreas Vardas has avoided the somewhat safer pastiche of holiday homes, with 'typical' features like pitched roofs that have no relevance in this part of Cryprus. He has drawn from the local vernacular where possible, carefully adding more contemporary curves and small windows to frame views of the sea and hill, while avioding unnecessary heat build up during the summer months.

The first floor rooms feature higher than expected vaulted ceilings and two naturally crss ventilating balconies - one shaded and one in the sun.

The solid Modernist look has been softened by incorporating slits in balconies and soft low grey walls to the front of the houses, providing a setback. The villa relate well to one another, but undoubtedly would benefit fromlarger plot sizes to accord more privacy to residents. We look forward to seeing future brave designs from this bold architect, who currently is working on another DND project in the mountains.
